Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony (MOU) between the West African Power Pool (WAPP) and the International Solar Alliance (ISA)
To foster mutual collaboration on Solar energy, the WAPP Secretariat and the International Solar Alliance (ISA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday, the 22nd of March 2022 in Cotonou, Benin.
The WAPP Secretary General visits the New SBEE Director General
On Thursday, January 27, 2022, the WAPP Secretary General, Mr. SIENGUI A. KI paid a courtesy call to the new SBEE Director General, Mr. Gérard ZAGRODNIK.
Appointed by the Council of Ministers on December 22 2021, the new Director General of SBEE took office on Thursday, January 13, 2022. Mr. ZAGRODNIK was previously Director of Studies, Projects and Planning at SBEE.
The Secretary General of WAPP took advantage of this visit to present WAPP, its governance structure and the position SBEE occupies as member of the Executive Board.

Visit of a delegation from Sunon Asogli to the General Secretariat of WAPP
On Monday, June 14, 2021, the WAPP Secretariat received on a working visit a delegation of SUNON ASOGLI Power ltd headed by its Chairman and Managing Director, Chief Togbe Afede XIV.
The visit started with a working meeting between the two parties held at the WAPP secretariat.

As part of events to mark the Europe Day, a delegation of Ambassadors led by EU Ambassador Sylvia Hartleif paid a site visit to the WAPP ICC project construction on Thursday, May 6, 2021.
WAPP signs a cooperation agreement with MCC
On June 16, 2021, the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the governments of Burkina Faso and Côte d'Ivoire as part of its new regional energy interconnection program to strengthen electricity market integration between the two countries and the West African energy sector.
WAPP, ECREE and ERERA organises annual planning workshop
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH has over the years been providing technical and financial support to WAPP, ECREEE, ERERA and the Energy & Mines department of the ECOWAS Commission within the framework of the Regional Program for the promotion of a climate-friendly electricity market in the ECOWAS region (PROCEM) and the project for improving the governance of renewable energy sector and energy efficiency in West Africa (AGOSEREE-AO).
