The West African Power Pool (WAPP) is specialized institution of the ECOWAS, located in Cotonou the Republic of Benin.

RECRUITMENT OF HYDRO-POWER EXPERT

The Governments of Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea have received financing from the World Bank toward part funding of the cost of the Côte d’Ivoire – Liberia – Sierra Leone – Guinea (CLSG) Interconnection Project, and intend to apply part of the agreed Grant amount to finance the contract for the consulting services of one (01) Hydropower Expert to be based at the General Secretariat of the West African Power Pool (WAPP/EEEOA).

The WAPP Secretariat in a bid to reinforce its human capacity in hydropower has secured funding from the World Bank for the recruitment of one (01) Hydropower Expert under a Technical Assistance Agreement for a period of three (03) years.

The WAPP intends to recruit a professionally qualified ECOWAS citizen as Secretary General to replace the incumbent whose tenure of office expires in July 2015. The tenure of the new Secretary General begins in July 2015 and shall be for a period of three years and renewable subject to satisfactory performance.

Within the framework of the implementation of the ECOWAS Commission Technical and Financial Assistance Agreement respectively to the Gambia, Mali and Sierra Leone, the WAPP Secretariat, as the Executing Agency of the programs, intends to engage the services of three (03) high level resident Experts as follows:

  2. One (01) Specialist in thermal power plant operations, based in EDM, Bamako, Mali.
