The Secretary General of WAPP, Mr. Abdoulaye DIA, took part as a panelist in Session 3 of the African Single Electricity Market (AfSEM) Forum: “Update from the African Power Pools and Regulators.” This session brought together the leaders of the five African Power Pools (WAPP, SAPP, EAPP, COMELEC, and CAPP), alongside AfSEM and the African Union, to share progress and perspectives toward building an integrated, sustainable, and inclusive African electricity market. The discussion took place during the 21st Congress of ASEA-APUA (Association of Power Utilities of Africa), held in Cairo, Egypt, from September 26 to October 3, 2025.
