The President of ECOWAS Commission paid an official visit to the WAPP Secretariat

The WAPP Secretariat welcomed on Thursday, October 27, 2022, the President of the ECOWAS Commission, Dr. Omar Alieu TOURAY at the construction site of the WAPP ICC (Information and Communication Center) Project. The ECOWAS President took the opportunity of his official visit to Benin to meet with the WAPP Secretariat, which is a specialized institution of ECOWAS.
He was welcomed by a delegation from the WAPP Secretariat led by the Secretary General of the institution, Mr. Siengui A. KI. The visit was an opportunity for the Secretary General to present the WAPP to the President of the Commission and to briefly review the projects underway and those to come.
The President of the Commission appreciated the work done by WAPP in the field of electricity integration in West Africa and gave his encouragement and advice to the WAPP Secretariat. The advice included the establishment of a good communication policy especially towards the general public of electricity consumers.
As a reminder, Dr. Omar Alieu TOURAY took office as President of the ECOWAS Commission in July 2022 replacing Mr. Jean-Claude Kassi BROU.
