WAPP 330 kV Double Circuit Ghana-Côte d'Ivoire Interconnection Reinforcement Project

From June 25 to 27, 2025, the city of Accra, Ghana will host the high-level meeting on the project to strengthen the 330 kV double-circuit Interconnection between Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana.
This meeting brings together:

1. The Director General of GRIDCo and CI-ENERGIES

2. The Directors General of Energy of the ministries

3. The WAPP General Secretariat

4. Ministers responsible for Energy of the two countries

The objective is to review and validate the results of the technical studies (feasibility, ESIA), formalize the project governance agreements, and prepare for the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for the creation of the Interstate Implementation Committee. This project, financed by the World Bank, constitutes a key link in the WAPP coastal interconnection corridor and will contribute to strengthening the stability of the network, facilitating energy exchanges between member countries, and advancing the energy integration of ECOWAS.
